AAPI Healing Centered Initiatives in Philly

Mango Tree Counseling & Consulting, an Asian American Mental Health Group Practice based in the Philadelphia metro area, is delighted to announce its collaboration with the Free Library of Philadelphia to host a transformative event: the Healing-Centered Forum in Philly’s AAPI Communities.

This event will feature a distinguished panel of AAPI community leaders and healers, each contributing invaluable insights and experiences to the discussion. Among the esteemed panelists are:

Sinta Penyami Storms (Gapura Philadelphia)

Suja Mathew, MA (Virtua Health)

Reksmeymony Yin, ME.d (Philly Asian and Queer)

Rowan Ching, M.Ac., LAC (Rowan Ching Healing Arts)

Dr. Noel Ramirez, founder and director of Mango Tree Counseling & Consulting, will moderate the discussion.  “This panel hopes to highlight how our communities have been caring and healing and to inspire more involvement and participation in these beautiful initiatives that my colleagues/friends are leading” – Dr. Noel B. Ramirez, DBH, MPH, MSW, LCSW. Healing-centered engagement is from the work of scholar and activist D. Shawn Ginwright, and it centers on repair, resilience, and identity restoration in communities.

The forum aims to celebrate the resilience and innovation of the AAPI community, particularly during AAPI Heritage Month, by showcasing the spirit of unity and collaboration. Attendees will be able to network and foster community connections, furthering the mission of creating inclusive spaces for healing and growth.

The panel discussion will explore topics such as building bridges and confronting prejudice in our communities, mental health, workplace wellness, identity restoration through art, LGBTQIA identity, holistic health, and the power of community. Snacks will be provided; the event is free and open to the public.
