Beethoven’s Fifth with The Philadelphia Orchestra

Pack a picnic and join us for a night of Beethoven’s music under the stars as The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Lina Gonzalez-Granados, returns to TD Pavilion at the Mann on June 17. The evening will begin with Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, which is inspired by the story of Roman general Coriolanus and was written for Austrian dramatist Heinrich Joseph von Collin’s tragedy, Coriolan. This will be followed by Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, with pianist Jonathan Biss playing alongside the Fabulous Philadelphians. Following intermission, we will be treated to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, one of his most famous symphonies with its iconic four-note motif that has been adapted in pop culture in everything from the Electric Light Orchestra to Fantasia 2000 to the Judge Judy theme music.
Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com or the Mann Ticket Office.
