Find out why American Blues Scene calls Debra Devi one of today’s top female blues-rock guitarists at Jamey’s House of Music in Landsdowne PA on Saturday May 11. Jamey’s was recently voted “favorite concert venue” and “favorite live music venue” in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Devi plays “dreamy blues-rock and blistering psychedelic jams” (Relix) driven by her soulful voice and expressive guitar playing. Her live EP, Jamification Station Vol. 1, reached #5 on the Relix/Jambands.com Top 30 Radio Chart, staying on the chart for three months.
Devi has opened for Joan Osborne, Jesse Malin, Ana Popovic, Fantastic Cat, Willie Nile and more. She’s also opened for Joe Louis Walker at Haverford Music Festival and Greg Sover at East Pete Blues Fest.
Her book The Language of the Blues: From Alcorub to Zuzu (foreword by Dr. John) won the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award, and high praise from Bonnie Raitt and Joe Bonamassa. Debra gives her popular “Language of the Blues” talk at festivals, colleges and venues, and will share stories and insights from her book during her show.
