Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture is proud to present a rare opportunity to learn traditional Palestinian dance directly from members of El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe, the premier Palestinian dance company. The workshops will take place on August 20, 21, and 22 at Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture’s community hub, located at 310 W Master Street, Philadelphia, PA.

As part of their U.S. tour this summer, dancers from El-Funoun will host three dynamic dabke workshops for both beginners and experienced dancers. Rooted in history, resistance, and cultural pride, dabke is a powerful expression of Palestinian identity. Participants will engage in an interactive training experience to learn foundational dabke steps, explore the improvisational role of the laweeh (lead dancer), and discuss the cultural significance of this beloved folk tradition.

This event offers more than dance instruction—it is an invitation to engage with Palestinian culture, connect with community, and support one of the most vital cultural institutions working to preserve and amplify Palestinian voices amid increasing threats of suppression and erasure.
