Decomposing 2023: A Tarot workshop to reflect on the year

December 30, 2023, 2 pm4 pm.

As we shift from one calendar year to the next, there can be a tendency to rush forward and focus on making resolutions, yet it’s often difficult—if not impossible—to take on more without the practices of reflecting, grieving, and releasing. Join Roksana Filipowska, Ph.D., for an in-person workshop to reflect upon the personal and collective themes of this past year before we welcome a new year. This two-hour workshop includes:

An overview of the Tarot archetypes for the year 2023 and journal prompts for reflecting upon how these themes have shown up in your life

A Tarot card pull for guidance on what—or where—to release before making space for the new

Building of a collective altar (please bring a small item that represents, or symbolizes, what you’d like to honor or fortify in your life)

Somatic practice to release and replenish (Sound bath and guided meditation)

Together we will support the decomposition of this year’s experiences into what writer Sophie Strand calls “good soil,” from which the future can grow. Suggested supplies: An altar offering (that you can take back with you at the end of the workshop), notebook, comfortable clothes, yoga mat and/or blanket.

No prior experience with Tarot, meditation or sound baths are necessary. All are welcome. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
