In honor of Valentine’s Day, Delaware County Symphony invites music lovers to a special chamber concert on February 16, exploring the many dimensions of love—from friendship to romance. This intimate performance will feature a diverse program of chamber music with a flute duet, a string quartet, and a string ensemble.

The concert will highlight Andante et Rondo, Op. 25 by Franz Doppler, a piece composed for the famed flutist and his brother Karl, who often performed together as a flute duet. The lively and expressive work will showcase the virtuosity of two flutists in an enchanting musical dialogue.

Also featured on the program is String Quartet No. 2 by Alexander Borodin, a piece that holds deep personal meaning for the composer. Dedicated to his wife, Ekaterina Protopopova, and written as a 20th wedding anniversary gift, the quartet evokes the couple’s first meeting in Heidelberg. The emotional depth and beauty of this work make it a perfect tribute to enduring love.

The concert promises to provide a warm and cozy winter afternoon of music, allowing attendees to reflect on love in all its forms. Whether you’re celebrating romantic love, friendship, or familial bonds, this concert offers a memorable experience for all.

Join us for this unique celebration of love through the timeless power of music. Themes of Love Chamber Concert will be on February 16 at 3:00 PM in Neumann University’s Meagher Theatre. Tickets for the concert may be purchased at dcsmusic.org/tickets
