Delaware County Symphony Presents Timeless Melodies Symphony Concert
The Delaware County Symphony is excited to announce its second symphonic concert of the 2024-2025 season, featuring world-renowned soloist Jennifer Montone, Principal Horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra. This special performance, titled Timeless Melodies, will take place on Sunday, December 8 in Neumann University’s Meagher Theater.
The concert will begin with one of Tchaikovsky’s most beloved works, the Fantasy Overture to “Romeo and Juliet”. This iconic piece, inspired by Shakespeare’s tragic love story, will set the stage for an afternoon of passionate and evocative music. The program will then feature Jennifer Montone performing Horn Concerto No. 3 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A true masterwork for the horn, Mozart’s concerto is renowned for its brilliance and musicality. Montone, known for her virtuosic skill and expressive playing, is widely considered one of the foremost horn players of her generation. The second half of the program will showcase Symphony No. 2 by Reinhold Glière, a work of lush Romanticism that is rich in color and emotion. Known for its grandeur and sweeping melodies, Glière’s symphony is a perfect fit for this festive time of year.
