Green Fair: Swap & Shop
The Sustainable Ridgefield Park Green Team will be holding its Annual Green Fair/Swap & Shop at Brewster Park. The event promotes the reuse and re-purpose of clothing, small appliances and household items. Participants are asked to drop off swap items from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. The clothing and accessories swap will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Leave Something, Take Something.
Clothing items for men, women, teens and children should be clean and gently used. Acceptable items include: pants/shorts, shirts, T-shirts, sweaters, vests skirts/dresses, sweats, athletic wear, pajamas, robes, coats/jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, shoes/sneakers, boots, sandals handbags wallets, book bags, backpacks, costume/fashion/jewelry, Halloween costumes, bedding/sheets/comforters/blankets, curtains, tablecloths/placemats and towels.
The Swap & Shop will also feature household goods, small appliances and other items. This includes pots, pans bowls, plates, cooking utensils, measuring cups, storage containers (glass or plastic), cutting board, coffee pot, tea kettle, mixers, rice cooker, blender, handheld devices, gift bags, ribbon, unused packaged soap/gel/body wash/lotion, CD or DVD players, holiday decorations – Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (no lights).
In addition to the Swap & Shop, a Green Fair with vendors and information tables will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Grant School PTA will also be collecting any clean plastic bottle caps.
Remaining clothing items and accessories collected from the Swap & Shop will be donated to local organizations and shelters. Remaining reuse items will be placed in the Reuse section located at the Ridgefield Park Department of Public Works Recycle Center.
In the event of rain, the Swap & Shop will take place on Sunday September 24th with the same schedule listed above.
