You’re Invited to the next Key of She Live Event! FREE but registration is required!
The Key of She Jazz Jam 2024:
Happening on February 17, 2024, from 1pm-5pm EST at the University of the Arts (211 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA). This is an in person event with an available livestream for our global audience members. This event is intended for especially for girls in jazz, but it open to students of all genders, parents, educators, musicians, and jazz lovers.
Doors will open at 12:15 PM. Get there early and listen to our opening performer at 12:30 pm: a special performance by the UArts group, Femme!
Philly x DC Women in Jazz Band by Hailey Brinnel and Amy K Bormet will perform and then lead a jam session for workshop for all attendees who would like to participate. The jam is especially intended for girls, but students of all genders and ages are welcome to participate.
Bringing out the Best in your Jazz Students: an Interactive Session for Educators. While the jam session for students is running, educators are invited to attend a discussion with music educator Dr. Sara Marino. Educators in Pennsylvania are eligible to receive Act 48 credit for attending.
Music as a Springboard: A Parent Roundtable. Project 440 — an organization that helps coach and support young musicians — will lead a special session for parents on how music can be a springboard for life! Project 440 helps students in cultivating leadership and other skills and hosts an annual college fair for musicians at the Kimmel Center.
Headline Performance. The event will conclude with a performance and Q&A by vocalist Martina DaSilva, Sarah Hanahan on alto saxophone, and Liya Grigoryan on piano. You won’t want to miss this fun event!
