Life Science Cares Philadelphia Jurassic Impact Reception

Life Science Cares Philadelphia will bring together the region’s influential life science leaders at the Jurassic Impact Reception at the Academy of Natural Sciences on April 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The annual event will celebrate and highlight the power of the life sciences industry to give back and drive meaningful change in Philadelphia, strengthening communities through philanthropy, volunteerism and corporate engagement. Proceeds from the event fuel Life Science Cares’ mission to fight poverty in Philadelphia, supporting nonprofit grantmaking, hands-on volunteer opportunities, and workforce development programs.

With a backdrop of towering dinosaurs, this is a gathering of executives, changemakers and community leaders who recognize that Philadelphia’s life sciences sector has a unique responsibility and opportunity to address the root causes of poverty in the city. Attendees will enjoy an evening of networking, mission-driven storytelling and impact-driven action.

“This event is not just a gathering of industry professionals, it is a platform to harness our collective influence and create tangible change for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable communities,” said Jeff Marrazzo, Board Vice Chair of Life Science Cares Philadelphia. “The life sciences sector thrives on innovation and collaboration, and we can apply that same energy to solving the root causes of poverty. We also look forward to welcoming and introducing our new Executive Director Jenn Parrado to the life sciences community.”

During the event, Life Science Cares Philadelphia will highlight Project Onramp, a groundbreaking internship program that provides paid opportunities for students from underrepresented backgrounds to launch careers in life sciences. Attendees will hear directly from Project Onramp alumni as they share reflections on how this program has shaped their professional journeys, reinforcing the importance of equity in the industry and providing opportunities for our local students.

Vin Milano, Board Chair of Life Science Cares Philadelphia, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration, “Life Science Cares is uniting companies across the region to make a lasting impact. The Jurassic Impact Reception is a powerful moment to celebrate what we have accomplished and set the stage for what is next, including Project Onramp which directly aligns our organization with the community.”
