The Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival presents a day of art and entertainment for children of all ages! On Sunday, July 27th, join us in Fishtown at the NKCDC Garden for a magical candy-land themed day of theater, music, writing, crafts, and of course, sweet treats!

Doors open at 12:30PM.

The PERFORMANCE OF THE NEW PLAY “The Land of Jim Dandy,” written by Philly Young Playwrights student Grace Fetsick, directed by Becky Fleckner, will begin at 1:00PM. Take a ride to a magical land of candy as our heroes take on a mad king with their band of mystical friends. This play is best suited for children in elementary school, but appropriate for all ages. Presented in partnership with Philly Young Playwrights.

After the show, stay all afternoon for more offerings like a CHARACTER CREATION WORKSHOP with PYP’s Director of Education & Programs, Madeline Charne, FACE PAINTING, LIVE MUSIC, and CRAFTS!

We will also have water, snacks, and JENI’S ICE CREAM!

There will also be a RAFFLE for exciting prizes!

The day will conclude at 5:00PM. This event is completely FREE! While tickets are not required, if you would like to let us know you’re coming and receive email updates, RSVP on this page: https://givebutter.com/playdate2025

If you want to support more arts in the city, you can also make a tax deductible donation with your RSVP, to help us keep uplifting young voices and providing opportunities for local artists!
