WQXR’s Classical Kids Fair at the Queens Theatre
New York’s classical music station WQXR 105.9 FM and wqxr.org heads to the Queens Theatre for another edition of its beloved Classical Kids Fair. The Classical Kids Fairs are a free and fun way to introduce children ages 4-10 to classical music through live performances, an instrument “petting zoo,” dance and composition workshops, arts and crafts, and more! Participating partners include the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, Louis Armstrong House Museum, Spanish-English music duo Musiquita, musicians from The Knights, flutist Emi Ferguson, Music from China, and teaching artists from the Queens Theatre.
This time, the Fair will also feature activities related to “Terrestrials,” Radiolab’s podcast for kids that tells stories about creatures, plants, and other natural phenomena using original songs, humor and a heavy dose of wonder. Season two of “Terrestrials” is out now.
The Classical Kids Fair is recommended for kids between the ages of 4 and 10. Reservations are encouraged.
